Melanie Wellman is the host of a funny, inspirational, REAL, sometimes snarky, rarely craptastic, weekly podcast that has been downloaded over half a million times.  She's been accused of making people laugh on the treadmill and cry in traffic. She graduated from BYU, served a mission in Japan, was married until she wasn't, has 5 kids, and currently serves as the Young Women's President in her ward.  She has a passion for the Book of Mormon and the scriptures that is contagious. She loves Mexican food, donuts, going to the movies, and laughing


Dan Oakes, Eternal Connections: The Divine Nature of Interpersonal Relationships


Dan Oakes is the stake president of the Queen Creek Arizona East Stake and a licensed professional counselor and a certified sexual addictions counselor. President Oakes received his bachelor’s degree at ASU and completed a masters degree from NAU. Dan is committed to his wonderful wife Shannon, and their five children. Dan loves the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeks to find balance in his service to the Lord, his family, and his professional life.


Mequell Buck, Living with Mental Illness  


Mequell Buck has lived with mental illness for nearly twenty years. She lives in Arizona with her husband and three kids. She can be found cliff jumping, coaching her son’s wrestling team, going on grand adventures with her family or riding her road bike really fast down big hills.


Dr. Joel Beckstead, Emotion Regulation:  The Key to Spiritual Health


David “Joel” Beckstead received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University in 2002.  In 2001, he completed his internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Beckstead is passionate about finding effective ways to combine evidenced based practices with traditional, spiritual, and cultural beliefs and has published and presented extensively on this topic.  His research and the treatment center where he previously worked were featured in the Surgeon General’s Report “Facing Addiction in America.” He is currently serving as the National Alcohol and Substance Abuse Lead for the Division of Behavioral Health in the Office of Clinical and Preventive Services.


Dr. Winston Egan, Creating & Maintaining Optimism throughout Life  Winn Egan, BYU-Idaho Devotional


Brother M. Winston Egan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Linda Mangum in 1965, and they are the parents of 4 children and grandparents of 22 grandchildren.  His sweet wife, Linda, passed away in March of last year.  Brother Egan taught at the University of Utah for 20 years and concluded his last 15 years at Brigham Young University. From 1997 to 2009. he chaired the Department of Teacher Education at Brigham Young University. His research and teaching interests centered on behavior disorders in children and youth, education for democracy, and teacher education. From 2009 to 2015, he served a member of the Young Men General Board of the Church. For fun, he plays the ukulele and enjoys singing, dancing, whittling, cartooning, tennis, biking, hiking, camping, writing, and connecting with grandchildren. Currently, he is finishing a book about becoming and being intentional grandparents.


John Skiba, Financial Health


John Skiba is a consumer protection attorney focused on defending clients in debt collection lawsuits, bankruptcy, and financial coaching. Mr. Skiba is also a certified Master Financial Coach through the Dave Ramsey organization. Over the last seventeen years, he has consulted with thousands of individuals and families on issues relating to budgeting, debt elimination, and bankruptcy. John received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his law degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
