Educator Workshop: Photography + The Archive

How many times have you heard the comment “everyone’s a photographer these days”? The quality of phone cameras and the proliferation and ease of use of photo editing software have created debates around contemporary photography.  How do we balance a respect for photography as an art form, while still empowering students to express themselves in this medium?

Join us for a tour of our FotoFocus shows, and a discussion of how the archive can be applied to photography today.  Brunch and mimosas will be provided from 10:00-10:30am. Educators are welcome to use this time for networking. Teacher Workshops are open to all teachers and education students. Non-members $5.00; Members and pre-service educators are free. Space is limited and reservations are required. The workshop will start promptly at 10:30am.
