Event Description

Inspired by the work of Robert Colescott, we will look at the ways artists use appropriation to call attention to Social Justice issues. The workshop will include a tour of Art and Race Matters: The Work of Robert Colescott, a discussion of how other artists have used appropriation and a lesson activity. Brunch and mimosas will be provided from 10:00-10:30am. Educators are welcome to use this time for networking. Teacher Workshops are open to all teachers and education students. Non-members $5.00; Members and pre-service educators are free. Space is limited and reservations are required. The workshop will start promptly at 10:30am.
