Drawing and Painting from Nature
with
Eve Aspinwall
Thursdays: June 1, 8, 15 and 22, 2017
9am –11:30am
The class will begin with a review of basic drawing materials and techniques. We will work from a variety of natural objects such as shells, bones, stones, and plants in the classroom. When the weather is fine we can work outdoors on the beautiful grounds of the Museum. Students will be encouraged to experiment with color media of their choice, including color pencils, watercolor, collage and pastel. This class will focus on the development of individual style and the creation of a drawing journal. Individual and/or group critiques will be offered.
Beginners and all levels welcome.
For the first class, bring 2B pencils, soft vine charcoal, a kneaded eraser and a 9x12 (or larger) sketchbook. Those wishing to use color media must provide their own materials, including a portable easel for painting outdoors.
