Our film series in conjunction with Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985 continues with  a double feature exploring Latina women’s ongoing struggle for reproductive justice in Puerto Rico and the mainland United States. The documentary La Operación (The Operation) (Ana María García, 1982, 40 min.) sheds light on the history and practice of female sterilization in Puerto Rico. Then, No Más Bebés (No More Babies) (Renee Tajima-Peña, 2016, 55 min.) tells the story of immigrant mothers in the United States who sued doctors and the government after being forced into sterilization in the 1960s and 1970s.

Tickets are $10 and include Museum general admission (purchase tickets for David Bowie is separately). Free for the first 50 Members (two tickets each). Not a Member? Join today! Part of the series Mujeres Rebeldes: Radical Women on Film.
