THE DEVIL’S BRIGADE is a highly fictionalized account of the real exploits of the 1st Special Service Force – the original Special Forces unit – during WWII. William Holden plays Colonel Robert T. Frederick, the real-life commander of the crew, as he leads his men against the thought-to-be-uncapturable Nazi fortress of Monte la Difensa in Italy.
