From South Korea to NYPL: Datz Press

Artists published by the small South Korean press discuss Datz’s tenets of nature, renewal, collaboration, and creative inspiration.

Founded in collaboration with Datz Museum of Art in 2010 in Seoul, South Korea, Datz Press is a small independent publisher comprising photographers, designers, and book artists, whose purpose is to preserve artists’ works through publication. Datz’s books are held in the collections of the Stanford Libraries, Amon Carter Museum, the library at the International Center for Photography, and now, The New York Public Library.

On the occasion of the Library’s acquisition of Datz’ entire catalog, several artists whose work has been published speak to the unique nature of this enterprise, and the importance of the place it holds in the contemporary art world of Korea, and the international art community at large.  

FIRST COME, FIRST SEATED
For free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. Priority will be given to those who have registered in advance, but registration does not guarantee admission. All registered seats are released shortly before start time, and seats may become available at that time. A standby line will form one hour before the program.
