Nichelle Murdock: Producer & Founder, Crack’Em Up Comedy

Nichelle Murdock is a total force in the comedy scene- dedicated architect of the craft who has spent over 20 years shaping what stand-up culture looks like today. Her journey has taken her from Cleveland Heights and the halls of Clark Atlanta University all the way to the heart of the Sunset Strip.

As the founder and executive producer of Crack’Em Up Comedy, she took a vision she had back in 2003 at the world-famous Comedy Store and turned it into a nationally recognized institution for both rising stars and legendary voices.

Before she found her home at the Store, Nichelle got her start working on production teams for BET, MTV, and Oxygen. Those early days sharpened her eye for talent and led her to produce high-profile specials, including the acclaimed "Affion Crockett Presents: Microphone Masters." She’s much more than just a producer behind the scenes, though. Her reputation for
sharp instincts and audience-driven programming earned her the title of Promoter of the Year, and her work has been featured in major outlets like The Hollywood Reporter and the LA Times.

While her roots are firmly planted in the history of live comedy, Nichelle is always looking toward the horizon. She’s currently bridging the gap between tradition and technology as the producer of "Crack’Em Up in the Metaverse," an immersive experience bringing stand-up into virtual worlds via hologram. Whether she’s curating a lineup in LA, San Diego, London, Amsterdam or
building the next digital comedy club, Nichelle’s mission is simple: finding the funny and giving it a place to live.
