Bandes Dessinées Classiques : Yann Damezin et Thierry Chavant avec Miriam Bridenne

Ce mois d'avril, nous célébrerons l'art de la bande dessinée avec une conversation (en français) entre les auteurs et illustrateurs Yann Damezin et Thierry Chavant, modérée par Miriam Bridenne, libraire à Albertine Books.

LES AUTEURS

Yann Damezin (Majnun and Layla) Yann Damezin est un dessinateur français né en 1991. Diplômé de l'école Emile Cohl, il a illustré quelques livres pour la jeunesse avant de scénariser et dessiner deux bandes dessinées : Concerto pour main gauche, biographie romancée du pianiste autrichien Paul Wittgenstein, puis Majnoun et Leïli, adaptation sous forme de poème graphique de l'une des plus belles histoires d'amour des littératures orientales.

Thierry Chavant  (Flic : the true story of the journalist who infiltrated the police) est le directeur artistique de l'agence de publicité Nouvel Eldorado. Il illustre des bandes dessinées depuis 2005. Il est né en 1967, à Tarare. Titulaire d'un brevet de technicien dessinateur-maquettiste, et d'un diplôme de design industriel, obtenu à l'École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, il travaille aujourd'hui comme Directeur Artistique dans une agence de publicité. Comme beaucoup, il fait ses débuts dans la bande dessinée très jeune, dans les marges de ses cahiers d'écolier. Ce n'est qu'en 2005 qu'est éditée, chez Albin Michel, sa première BD, Méliane. 

Miriam Bridenne: Après presque deux décennies de travail dans l'édition, et quelques allers-retours entre Paris et New York, Miriam a décidé de s'installer chez Albertine pour faire ce qu'elle aime le plus : recommander des livres qu'elle aime.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS  

Yann Damezin  ( Majnun and Layla ) Yann Damezin is a French designer born in 1991. A graduate of the Emile Cohl school, he illustrated a few books for young people before writing and drawing two comic strips: Concerto pour main gauche, fictionalized biography of Austrian pianist Paul Wittgenstein, then Majnoun and Leïli, adaptation in the form of a graphic poem of one of the most beautiful love stories in oriental literature.

Thierry Chavant  (Flic: the true story of the journalist who infiltrated the police)  is the artistic director of the advertising agency Nouvel Eldorado. He has been illustrating comics since 2005. He  was born in 1967, in Tarare. Holder of a drafting technician's certificate and a diploma in industrial design, obtained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he now works as Artistic Director in an advertising agency. Like many, he made his debut in comics at a very young age, in the margins of his school notebooks. It was only in 2005 that his first comic strip, Méliane, was published by Albin Michel. 

Miriam Bridenne  After almost two decades of work in publishing, and a few trips back and forth between Paris and New York, Miriam decided to settle at Albertine to do what she loves most: recommend books she loves . Somehow this also includes taking photos for Albertine's social media.
