The Classic Evening Lantern Tour

Soak up the history of this famous cemetery by the light of kerosene lanterns!  It's like stepping back in time as we visit some of the most impressive residents of the north end of the grounds, including William Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, John Dustin Archbold and others resting in peace in the north end. As this is only a one-hour tour, you'll need to visit during the day to see Washington Irving's grave.

COVID-19 POLICY:  Masks must be worn at all times by everyone on tour without exception for the safety of all guests and our staff. If you are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons or have a very young child in tow, we regret being unable to welcome you this year. Refusal to wear a mask properly will result in being asked to leave the grounds.

Please note that if only 1 ticket shows as available during the purchase process that is the only (i.e., last) ticket available. Due to COVID-19 protocols, group size is strictly monitored and cannot be increased. Only 4 tickets can be purchased at one time. If you need more than 4, purchase them in separate transactions. 

Dates:  Friday and Saturday nights from September 18 - November 21, plus Sunday evenings in October and early November. 

Location: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery North Gate, 540 North Broadway.

Parking:  There is plenty of free parking inside the gate.

Skill level: This tour takes place in the dark.  The route includes several steep hills, some stairs, as well as grassy, unpaved and gravel roads.  There is no place to sit down during the tour.  The route is approximately 1.5 miles.  Due to the challenging nature of the route, it is not recommended for children under the age of 10.

NOTE: UNLESS IT IS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO LEAVE DURING THE TOUR AS THE GATES ARE LOCKED ONCE THE TOUR BEGINS.  PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR OWN ABILITIES - AS WELL AS EVERYONE ELSE'S IN YOUR GROUP - BEFORE PURCHASING TICKETS.

Refunds, exchanges: All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless tour is canceled.

Weather: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery walking tours run rain or shine. If a tour is canceled due to severe weather such as high winds, lightning, or heavy rain, we will promptly refund the ticket purchase price, less processing fees.  Cancellations will be posted at least one hour before tour time on our website and Facebook page.  We will contact you via the email and phone number provided during the purchase process.
