This workshop will cover the fundamental business and legal topics new artists need to learn heading into a career as an artist or creative professional.

In this Workshop, we will discuss:

• Your rights under VARA, CAPA, and the remaining parts of the California Resale Royalty Act;


• Basic Tax concepts to be aware of;


• The pros and cons of various business formations; and


• The how's and why's of Copyright, Trademark, and Licensing.

Presenter:  Jacob Janzen, Esq.  runs Start Art Legal, a law practice devoted to representing artists and creative professionals at the many intersections of the Art and Law worlds.
