Event Description
Build your own custom fishing rod with step-by-step instruction by Chuck DeRemer. This opportunity is for anyone at least 14 years of age, 12 if registering with a parent/guardian.
Workshop is $250; register by purchasing a $150 ShowClix ticket via https://bit.ly/LMSPShowClix (rod building materials, breakfast & lunch on Saturday and facility use) and pay an additional $100 instructor’s fee. Please send personal check for instructor’s fee made payable to Chuck DeRemer to Amy Schimetz, Outdoor Ed Coordinator c/o LMSP - 2 Lake Metigoshe State Park - Bottineau, ND 58318 OR simply drop cash or check payment off directly at the park.
Participants are not fully registered until both payments are received.
Registration opens at 12pm on Jan 15 via https://bit.ly/LMSPShowClix.
Registration closes at 11:59pm on March 16 (unless workshop is already sold out).
Workshop will get underway on Friday (6pm-9pm) and continue on Saturday (9am-5pm). Rods must spin overnight for drying process, but will be ready for pick-up on Sunday morning. Arrangements can be made with LMSP to pick up rod on an alternative date should participants not be able to stay Saturday evening.
Tickets sales and instructor’s fees are final - no exceptions; if, for whatever reason, LMSP needs to cancel, refunds will be available.
Registered participants no longer able to attend may send a replacement attendee assuming notification has been sent to aschimetz@nd.gov on or prior to 5pm on March 31.
Participation is limited.
Lodging is available onsite as there are full service, semi-primitive and primitive cabins onsite in addition to a semi-primitive yurt. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-807-4723 or by visiting www.parkrec.nd.gov. Prices range from $60-$115/night (2 night min). Park visitors staying onsite in eiether cabins or yurt need to bring their own pillows, bedding, towels/washcloths and personal toiletries.
