Canmore Highland Games 2026

Join us for the 2026 Canmore Highland Games!

It seems especially fitting to have a Highland Games in Canmore, as one of the first Highland Games known was organized by King Malcolm III Canmore (1058-1093). Held at a fairly flat meadowland (the Brae O’Mar) along the River Dee, this sporting event was used for a royal contest to find the swiftest and strongest man in the kingdom with the necessary stamina to carry Malcolm’s messages across the land.

While centered on on piping & drumming, dancing, and Scottish heavy athletics, the Games also includes entertainment, food, vendors and exhibits related to other aspects of Scottish and Celtic culture. Come join us at Centennial Park September 4th to September 6th for the festivities! 

2026 Two Days of Events Include:

Taste of the Highlands 
Friday September 4, 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm 
The Taste of the Highlands will run from 5 pm to 9 pm and a cash bar will be available till 11 pm in Scooter's Bar (North side of the Festival Tent). Admission includes 10 taste tickets to start your night off at the door (Adults Only) 
CHG FESTIVAL TENT, Centennial Park, Canmore, Alberta (heated venue)

Saturday, September 5th, 8:00am - 5:00 pm
Admission includes all daytime events taking place in Centennial Park, Canmore, Alberta

2 Scotch Tastings - Saturday 
2 Events Saturday September 5th, 1:30pm - 2:30pm & 3:00pm - 4:00pm
A unique tasting experience featuring a selection of premium & ultra-premium single malts (Adults Only)
Scooter’s Bar, Centennial Park, Canmore, Alberta 

Evening Ceilidh 
Saturday September 5th, 5:30 pm - 11:00pm
A full night of Celtic entertainment
