Buster Keaton Program w/ live music by Thoth Trio

See a great program of classic short films by the "Great Stone Face" Buster Keaton. Critic Roger Ebert wrote of Keaton's "extraordinary period from 1920 to 1929, [when] he worked without interruption on a series of films that make him, arguably, the greatest actor-director in the history of the movies.

 

Thoth Trio consists of Ben Opie on saxophones and clarinet, Paul Thompson on bass, and David Throckmorton on drums. Ben has a long history in the Pittsburgh creative music community, with groups such as Water Shed 5tet and Morphic Resonance. Paul and David have a long history together, including several years as the rhythm section for the Maynard Ferguson Bebop Nouveau Big Band.
