BBG School Groups: Discovery Trail

Discovery Trail: Tuesday & Thursday Mornings
April 14–June 11, 2026 (except June 4)

During Discovery Trail programs, space is limited and groups must preregister for access. This registration includes Brooklyn Botanic Garden admission for your school group any time after 10 a.m. and Discovery Garden admission at the time indicated above. Maximum group size is 30 students plus staff and chaperones.

• Children’s groups from pre-K through high school may visit free of charge by advance registration only.


• Discovery Trail slots are limited. At the selected time, groups should check in with BBG staff at the south entrance to the Discovery Garden (near the School Lunch Area). The group may stay until BBG closes.


• Each reservation must be made under the name of the group’s teacher or chaperone.


• Each group must have a reserved ticket for entrance. Maximum group size is 30 students.

School Lunch Area

An outdoor picnic lunch area is open exclusively for school and camp groups, weather permitting, Tuesdays through Fridays, 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., from the first week of April through mid-November. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note the Garden does not have facilities to store lunches for visiting classes.
