Event Description

Doors 7:30PM/Concert 8PM

Montréal’s Quatuor Bozzini and Toronto’s Continuum present two in-person concerts of exceptional contemporary chamber music to welcome back our live audience.

Internationally-renowned Quatuor Bozzini celebrates its return to Toronto (and the Music Gallery!) with an all-Canadian program. Hot off the press, Hexbreakers (2022) by Nicole Lizée features grooves and glitches performed by multi-tasking quartet musicians. Michael Oesterle’s String Quartet No. 3 ‘Alan Turing’ (2010) is inspired by lives of scientists; their focus and creativity, their work methods, and their adversity. We return to nature and a call to solidarity with Tanya Tagaq’s arctic landscapes in Sivunittinni (2015) and with bird migration in du nord (2020) by quartet member Alissa Cheung

918 Bathurst, is not currently wheelchair accessible due to stairs (two half-flights to enter the performance space, and one flight to access the washrooms). This event will have projected visuals, includes amplified sound and will not include additional scents

We will have ear plugs, sunglasses, and a ‘therapeutic room’ for those that need it. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to david@musicgallery.org.

Proof of full vaccination or medical exemption is required at the door. Except in our bar area, masks are required to be worn at all times unless explicitly mentioned otherwise.

We expect all attendees and community members to respect one another, and to respect the work that was created for you to explore. We will not tolerate harm or harmful behaviour of any kind.
