Riding off the stellar reception of “I Felt Love” and its rave remix, Blue Hawaii are rolling out 2023’s “Feeling Celebrated”. It’s more club-ready than ever, featuring faster tempos, trance-inspired basslines and punchy drums. The first single, “Summer for the Loners", is a cheeky take on teen angst and the feeling of being a misfit, juxtaposed to the happy warm summertime.
A duo skilled at turning heartache and separation into dreamy yet danceable electronic pop, Blue Hawaii is Raphaelle Standell and Agor "DJ Kirby" Cowan. Their breakup inspired the frostbitten beauty of 2013's Untogether, while virtual spaces - and real-life distance - informed 2017's Tenderness (both albums were nominated for the Electronic Album of the Year Juno Award). With 2019's Open Reduction Internal Fixation, 2020’s Under 1 House, and 2022’s My Bestfriends House, Blue Hawaii dove deeper into the sounds of '90s and 00s dance music while retaining the emotional connection of their music. They are based in Montreal and Berlin.
