Black CaT MOAN

BLACK CAT MOAN has coined the phrase "New Vintage Blues" to describe their music -- a modern blues sound that looks to the source of early recorded blues, like Robert Johnson, for inspiration. "BLACK CAT MOAN pays homage to the era of blues that birthed its honored child, jazz, and its bastard son, rock and roll," says one Pennsylvania music critic. The band encompasses the best of several eras through its three members talented musicianship and varied backgrounds.

George Byich's style harkens back to what is referred to as country blues, most representational of the early 1900's to the 1930's. The recognizable slide guitar of Delta Blues and the finger picking of Mississippi John Hurt can be heard in St.George's performances.

Zach Bodolosky's talents evoke the first child of the blues, with jazz being his biggest influence. A second generation jazz drummer, his style harkens back to the 1920's through the 1950's -- so you'll be sure to hear some rockabilly licks as well.
