Join us for a special benefit concert sponsored by the Egyptian Theatre featuring musician Godfrey Paul. The evening will include music, a silent and live auction, a raffle, and brief appearances by AJ’s remarkable medical team. 

A BENEFIT FOR AJ MANSFIELD

“One in a Million”    

In March 2022, AJ Mansfield was diagnosed with Goodpasture’s Disease. It occurs at an annual rate of 1 in 1 million people according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Kidney Diseases. The disease aggressively attacks the lungs, kidney and heart. AJ suffered the greatest damage to his kidneys. He now requires dialysis and a kidney transplant to save his life.  

 “One in 25,000” 

Nearly 25,000 lifesaving kidney transplants were performed last year in the United States. AJ hopes to be one of the lucky few to receive a transplant this year! To qualify, he was accepted into the University of Utah’s Transplant Program in December 2022.  The process required extensive testing and the support of his local medical team including the remarkable nephrologist, Dr. Jerry Meng.  

“Finding the One” 

Our community has rallied to help AJ find one generous organ donor with the potential to save his life.  You may have seen yard signs, billboards, business cards or heard through word-of-mouth about AJ’s search for a donor. As a result, many people have expressed interest in helping but a suitable match has yet to be found. 

While many people would be discouraged, AJ is accustomed to overcoming the odds. He was raised in foster care but went on to become a United States Marine. He is very proud of this accomplishment and the opportunity to serve his country. AJ has remained positive. He often says, “Nothing can stop me in life from moving on.”   

“Make One Big Difference” 

You are invited for to make one big difference for AJ and his potential living donor. A kidney transplant is costly. While insurance covers most medical expenses, the cost of travel and lost wages for the donor and AJ will be considerable.  

Join us for a special benefit concert sponsored by the Egyptian Theatre featuring musician Godfrey Paul. The evening will include music, silent auction and brief appearances by AJ’s remarkable medical team.  

All proceeds will be generously donated to AJ and the living donor’s treatment, care and recovery.
