The Artemis Women in Action Film Festival - CITI PRIVATE PASS

Dedicated to female action and empowerment heroes!

Friday April 27 through Sunday April 29, 2018 Monica Film Center 1332 2nd St. Santa Monica, CA 90401.

Opening films are Friday Apr 27 starting at 7:00pm; all day screenings, panels and workshops on Saturday and Sunday Apr 28 and 29.

We have a STELLAR line up for 2018.  Click on the '*more details' link directly beneath time at date (list to the right) opens a dialog containing a full description of all films playing in each block.

We screen lots of shorts blocks; each block is programmed thematically with a name that nutshells content type.  For example, if you're up for Comedy Action films, you can be sure our PUNCHLINES shorts block is filled with comedy action.  BTW, we screen lots of action! :D

Living In The Future's Past feature documentary, narrated and presented by Jeff Bridges, playing in the Empowering the Ultimate Mother block on Fri. at 7:20pm.

Beauty Bites Beast feature documentary, starring Ellen Snortland a must see doc playing in The Sex Type Thing block, screening at 2:10pm on Sat. and 8:00pm on Sun.


Stuck feature, starring Heather Matarazzo, Joel McHale, Felicia Day, and Jillian Armenante; playing in The Dating Game block on Sat. at 4:00pm and Sun. at 6:30pm


Mary Janes: The Women of Weed; Windy Borman, feature documentary, director, writer, producer; featuring Melissa Etheridge, playing in the Ahead For Business I block on Fri. at 7:00pm and Sun. at 4:10pm


Perfume War feature documentary, starring Barbara Stegemann is a best-selling author; renowned in business; perfume and humanitarian circles playing in the Ahead For Business II block playing at Sat. 4:30pm and Sun. 8:35pm


Riley Parra feature starring Marem Hassler, Liz Vassey and Connor Trinneer playing in the Monsters and Ghosts, Oh My! block on Sat. at 6:40pm


5th Passenger feature starring Marina Sirtis, Armin Shimerman, Doug Jones, Manu Intiraymi, and David Lim playing in the Feminine Cosmos block on Fri. at 9:20pm.

4 Dancers Dreams, feature documentary, directed by Nancy J. Lilly, playing in the Indomitable Women block Sun. at 12:40pm

Combat Nuns action short starring Dot Marie Jones, playing in the Punchlines Shorts Block, screens on Sat. at 6:05pm and Sun. at 6pm 


Hot Break action short starring Rene Ashton, Ethan Peck, Brian Van Holt and Connor Trinneer screens in the shorts block Underestimated Women at 4:40pm on Sunday

Game action short starring Rick Fox playing in the Hearts of Champions shorts block on Sat. at 10:20am

Three days of non-stop action - feature films, documentaries, short films, panel discussions and workshops all showcasing women kickin' ass and takin' names!

All films are not yet rated.  Each individual screening description contains content/theme information, i.e. appropriate for all ages, some violence, adult themes, etc.
