HARTBEAT ENSEMBLE'S YOUTH PLAY INSTITUTE
PRESENTS
ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING?
Are You Even Listening? is a live-streamed performance about how the home and school lives of students have been affected by Covid. We talk about mental health, collectivism, systemic inequality, and interpersonal relationship.
HartBeat Ensemble's Youth Play Institute is a professional paid internship in acting, playwriting, theater design or stage management for young adults between the ages of 16 and 21 years old; a program where youth are developing and expressing their perspectives about social justice and engaging in their lives through a political lens.
This evening's performance will include ENCOUNTERS: Are You Even Listening?, a special dialogue event that features small group discussions, led by YPI participants, on critical questions about the play, as well as specialist feedback and engagement.
The Encounters Series is a program of UConn's Dodd Human Rights Impact Democracy and Dialogues Initiative.
Running Time: 105 minutes
Funded in part by the Ensworth Charitable Foundation, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Time Out of School Grant, Lila A. Lily Foundation, George A. & Grace L. Long Foundation Grant, Charles Nelson Robinson Fund and Travelers.
These events will take place on Zoom.
