Event Description

Tuesday, June 25 | 10am-4pm | All Ages

50 years after the Moon landing, join us to view a truly unique piece of history: the Apollo 11 Lunar Module Timeline Book.

The book is on loan to the museum for just one day ahead of its sale at Christie’s New York on July 18 and will be surrounded by relevant artifacts from the museum, making this a remarkable viewing experience.

This rare artifact narrates Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s extraordinary journey, including nearly 150 annotations, notes and checkmarks made by the astronauts in flight. The book is on loan to the museum for just one day and will be surrounded by relevant artifacts from the museum, making this a remarkable viewing experience.

Access to the artifact is available with the price of admission (or free to members!) but all guests must register for a specific 30-minute window.

Plus, catch space historian Roger Launius at 4:15pm in the lounge where he will be speaking about the Apollo 11 Lunar Module Timeline book. A former Associate Director for Collections and Curatorial Affairs at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum, Roger has written and edited over thirty books on aerospace history. This special talk is included with admission.
