Join The New York Public Library, author Peter Brown, and Academy Award–winning actress Lupita Nyong'o for a very special reading of The Wild Robot!


The Wild Robot, the first in a series of books by Peter Brown, tells the story of Roz, a robot that's shipwrecked on a remote island and must learn to survive in the wilderness. It was featured in the Library's Best Books for Kids list in 2016. A movie adaptation from DreamWorks Animation is scheduled for release in the United States on September 27, 2024, starring Lupita Nyong'o as Roz.


Recommended for ages 8+.


Entry is strictly limited to registered guests.

To join the event in person | Doors will open 30 minutes before the program begins. Preregistration is required for attendance.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS


Lupita Nyong’o is an Academy Award–winning Mexican-Kenyan actress and film director. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 2014 for her performance in 12 Years a Slave. Additionally, Nyong'o has been featured in the films Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the live-action version of The Jungle Book. In 2015, Nyong'o was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in the critically acclaimed Broadway play Eclipsed.
