The Piedmont Limited

This afternoon trip will depart from the N. C. Transportation Museum at 2PM. The Norfolk & Western Class J #611 will pull the train north from Spencer and through the communities of Linwood, Lexington, Thomasville, High Point, and Jamestown before arriving at Norfolk Southern's Pomona Yard in Greensboro. We'll pass through some of the state's most well-know furniture and textile producing towns and locally famous attractions, like Thomasville's historic downtown and High Point's furniture market.

At Greensboro, we will turn the entire train before heading south. Our estimated arrival in Spencer is 7PM. Passengers will not detrain in Greensboro. This trip is ideal for those looking for an opportunity to ride behind mainline steam without spending a full day on board.

• Boarding location: boarding will take place at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer,   NC. Boarding begins at 1:00 PM.


• The Piedmont Limited departs Spencer at 2:00 pm and returns at 7:00 pm.
