The Denis Theater presents Baby Face (1933)

Reel to Real: Conversations that bring movies to life!

Just like your favorite book club, REEL to REAL provides a forum for thoughtful discussion of films in a casual, comfortable environment.

On Sunday April 19, The Denis Theatre’s Reel to Real movie event moves to The Hollywood Theater on Potomac Avenue in Dormont for a big screen viewing of the 1933 film, Baby Face, starring Barbara Stanwyck.

“She had it and made it pay” was the tag line for Baby Face, a notorious movie that played a part in the creation of the Hollywood Production Code. Between 1934 and 1968 the Code provided moral guidelines to be applied to movies made by the major studios. Chad Hunter, Executive Director of The Hollywood Theater, will introduce the full uncut version of Baby Face including five “lost” minutes recently restored to the film. A discussion will follow the film.

Anyone may join the free Reel To Real pre-movie gathering at 5:30, register at http://bit.ly/1CbWcMx or call The Denis at 412.668.0737. Bring an appetizer and your beverage—wine and beer are welcome and the concession stand will be operating for the evening.

At 6:15 the doors open to everyone, with the movie set to begin at 6:45. Admission is free and donations are appreciated.

Join The Denis and The Hollywood and enjoy an evening of movie magic on April 19!
