St. Dunstan's Theatre is proud to present Stewart Francke live and in concert for the release of his new CD, A Familiar Fire.
A Familiar Fire, which comes out April 15th, represents, in Francke's words, "my best work to date as far as accessibility and variety in songwriting.
"Good songs, or I should say good lyrics, thrive when there's a conflict in the narrative. And in the songs on this, there's the rub of looking back on my life and my early life in Saginaw, and then dealing with characters (including myself) in the present moment, wherever they may have landed and whatever they've been through.
"So the conflict of nostalgia, set to the most evocative music I could write, and the burdens and joys of the present make a song very emotional--a living, breathing story about who we are and what we want.
"There are also just feel good songs and sing-along songs, and even a Bond-like workout called 'Final Fandango'."
St. Dunstan's Theatre is located at 400 Lone Pine Road, between Woodward and Lahser, in Bloomfield Hills. Free parking across the street from the theater and in the lot of Christ Church Cranbrook, 1 block east of the theater.
