Event Description
Rewind to 1967, a young girl of 14 moves to Nashville to join her father and meet his new wife, Tammy Wynette. Not many people had heard of Tammy at that point, but that was all about to change! Don't miss this incredible musical based on the true story of Tammy Wynette, as told by her one time step-daughter, Donna Chapel.

This moving and entertaining musical began at the birth of Tammy Wynette’s stardom and follows her meteoric rise. Told by Donna Chapel, who was Tammy’s stepdaughter, young Donna traveled with her father, Don Chapel, as Tammy's backup singer. During this time Tammy’s career skyrocketed! Donna Chapel was born and raised in New Richmond, as was Bob Baker, the writer and director of the production. Tammy came to New Richmond during the time period of the play. This show kicks off the Grand Opening of the New Riverstage Theatre! Two shows only, December 14 at 2:30PM and 7:30PM, Riverstage Theatre New Richmond.

Featuring Lyndsay Broad Abel as Tammy Wynette, Kimberly Stone as Donna Chapel, and Barry Norwood as Don Chapel and George Jones. Written by Robert Riddle Baker; directed by Robert Baker and Margie Cumbie; Produced by Arecia Jones and Renaissance Theatre Productions, Inc.; Musical Direction by Barry Norwood.

26 songs made famous by Tammy Wynette and George Jones are performed.
