Event Description
Country: USA
Director: Carolina Loyola Garcia
Since the early 20th century, the art of flamenco has traveled to far away places, including the United States. Many have fallen in love with the deep song, the cry, the rhythm. This beautiful documentary, a Pittsburgh premiere – made by Pittsburgh-based dancer, artist, actress and filmmaker, Carolina Loyola Garcia – explores the tradition of flamenco arts in America: its origins, protagonists, and its identity as a nomadic and hybrid artform. It gives voice to flamenco singers, guitarists, dancers, and scholars as they explore the tradition and uncover the struggles. (2013; 100 min)
The director Carolina Loyola Garcia is scheduled to attend with special guest Ana Greco.
32nd Three Rivers Film Festival
