Town & Gown Players present Counting on Love, a series of four one-act plays written by local T&G member Richard Chaney. He presents these together for the first time, “in anticipation of the friskiness of spring.” About his writing, he states: “I always said I wrote about sex and death. True. But upon reconsideration, I must admit I have often written about love, no matter how upside down or twisted – sweet love, love soured, desperate love, love lost, remembered love, love found – in all its varieties. Counting on Love is a collection of one-act plays celebrating just that.”
The production is directed by T&G Publicity Chair KAT Marie Mitchell, and the cast features the acting talents of several T&G veterans and a few newcomers to Town & Gown’s stage. TOO explores how love can help you grow (featuring Daniel Cutts, Samone Pittman, Stacy Smith, and Murray Weed); Tea for Three experiments with different combinations of love (Skip Hulett, Celeste Josephine, Melanie Maxey, and Greg Voyles); The Box expounds upon lost love (Sean Polite and Virginia Simmons); and Four of Hearts gives you a range of motion where love is concerned (Isaac Callahan, Gillianne Gentzel, Seth Jordan, Katie Lapka, Sarah Anne Owens, David Swisher, and Lauren Walman).
