NWGRF Miss Northwest Georgia Regional Fair **17-24 years

We will kick off the pageants for 2016 with the Miss Northwest Georgia Regional Fair followed by Young Teen Miss and Teen Miss this year beginning at 7:00 pm.

Miss Northwest Georgia Regional Fair Queen will receive an amazing prize package of $1000 cash, Custom Embroidered Banner, Large Trophy, and travel expenses to attend Miss Georgia Fairs Pageant in Greenville, SC in January 2017.

Miss Northwest Georgia Regional Fair First Runner-Up will receive $300 cash, Large trophy.

Miss Northwest Georgia Regional Fair Second Runner-Up will receive $200 cash, Large trophy.

Schedule of Events for Saturday September 10th, 2016

1. Northwest Georgia Regional Fair Parade- Line up begins downtown at 10:00 am, Parade begins at 11:00 am. Meet at the city parking lot next to the library downtown. Contestants must make arrangements for vehicle. This is optional and you will not be judged on your participation.

2. Interviews begin at 3:00 pm in the Fair Office at the Fairgrounds, come dressed and ready in interview attire and report at least 15 minutes prior to your assigned interview times.

3. After interviews we will go to the Pavilion Stage for pageant rehearsal. Before rehearsal you will be given an opportunity to change into more comfortable clothes and shoes if you choose.

4. Light dinner for Miss Contestants courtesy of the Fair Association will be offered, please notify in advance for food allergies.

5. Pageant Preparation begins, contestants may have one female guest backstage prior to 6:30, after 6:30 no guests are allowed backstage for the Miss Contestants.

Contestants must be female, 17 years old by September 1, 2016 and no older than 24 years old. A contestant must be single, never have been married, nor have given birth to a child or have any visible tattoos. A contestant cannot hold a current title that leads to the Miss Georgia Fairs Pageant held in January 2017 or win another title that leads to Miss Georgia Fairs Pageant while serving as Miss Northwest Georgia Regional Fair. The winner of the Miss Northwest Georgia Regional Fairs Pageant is expected to perform all duties assigned to them as winner of the pageant. Due to the increased financial award of $1000, full scholarship is contingent on performing all duties assigned. To ensure cooperation the scholarship will be paid in two payments. Please see the attached form for duties and responsibilities.

Each Contestant will compete in Personal Interview, Evening Wear and On-stage Question.

1. Interviews will be no longer than seven (7) minutes and it is recommended that you wear business attire that is complementary to the contestant. Interview questions may come from your application, current events, or subject matter based on your introduction to the judges. If a judge asks you to tell about yourself, this will be your opportunity to lead the discussions based on the information that you provide the judges.

2. We will begin the pageant with the Parade of Contestants. You will wear what you wore for the Interview. You will be given 15-30 seconds at the microphone to introduce yourself, your school and contestant number. This will be upbeat and fast tempo.

3. Evening Wear will consist of gown/evening attire of your choice. This will be a slower more elegant tempo.

Points will be awarded in each category of competition. A contestant may earn a maximum of 30 points from each judge for each phase of the competition. There is no dropping of high or low scores. Scores are not factored so each category is weighted equally. Each judge may award an additional 10 points during the Evening Wear competition for “Overall Impression”. This will be the Judges Overall Impression of the contestant from all phases of the competition. Should there be a tie, the tiebreaker will be determined from the Interview score followed by the Evening Wear score then Swimsuit score. If the tie still exists, the Judges will break the tie. Judges scores are sealed.
