Join the Oakland Girls Choirs for "Mosaic," a concert exploring the range and power of love -- the love of a parent and child, romantic love, God's love, and the love of life in the midst of dark and challenging times.
Featured works will include the Yiddish piece, "Schlof Main Kind" ( Allan Naplan), and "I Never Saw Another Butterfly," (Charles Davidson's)- a song cycle with poetry written by children interned at Terezin, a concentration camp during the Holocaust. Other works incorporate texts from Song of Solomon and the Psalms which are powerfully realized by composers including Joan Szymko, Pablo Casals, and Z. Randall Stroope.
Come and experience this inspirational evening on Saturday May 19 at 7 PM at Church of the Ascension, 4729 Ellsworth Ave, Pittsburgh. The Tour and Chamber Choirs will also be presenting "Mosaic" throughout Pennsylvania and New York from June 15 - 23.
