Mick Hayes Band returns to Sportsmens Tavern.

Friday, June 26, 2015 $10

At a time when contemporary music has few boundaries, when lines have been intentionally blurred so that artists can easily “crossover” to reach new audiences. There emerges the sound of Buffalo born Mick Hayes who was educated on the sounds and styles of yesterday and still pays a fresh tribute to it today.

Mick has spent most of his career traveling between Nashville, Los Angeles and Atlanta. During his travels Mick has performed in front of audiences numbering tens of thousands at the industries most known music festivals, conferences and highbrow venues all over world.  He’s opened for bands such as the Doobie Brothers, Peter Frampton, Dickie Betts, Los Lonely Boys, Delbert McClinton, Dave Mason, Robin Trower, Cheap Trick, Duke Robillard and many more. Mick has shared the stage alongside some of the industries’ finest including: Stevie Wonder, Steve Vai, Michael Burkes, Jimmy Thackery, Smokin’ Joe Kubek, Joe Bonamassa, several more talented musicians

Mick is known for appearing and performing at the NAMM show which is the worlds largest music conference in Anaheim CA and in Nashville TN. While performing in Anaheim CA in 2013 Mick Hayes caught the interest of musical genius Stevie Wonder who joined him on stage during Mick's song called Those 3 Words. Stevie who currently holds twenty nine grammy music awards commented first that he loved Mick’s songwriting and could he join them on stage to sing and play harmonica.

Currently Mick Hayes is writing and recording a new full-length record. The album is evidence of the artist’s recent personal journey and evolution as he traveled down a sometimes-painful road. The writing for the album reflects an evolution of music that represents a powerful mixing of emotions, it is soulful and filled with many raw moments giving a first-person look into the past 10 years of the artist who has "Seen the world through dirty windshields" as he so elegantly puts it.
