Event Description

By Henrik Ibsen
Directed by Martin Giles
January 31-February 24, 2013
Hart Building in East Liberty

Disgraced and destitute following a fraud scandal and imprisonment, John Gabriel Borkman paces alone in an upstairs room, a nightmare to those below. Downstairs his wife and former mistress (who happens to be her sister) are in for a dark and stormy night. A scorching indictment of 19th century capitalism, Ibsen's penultimate play is a cautionary message for modern audiences about how unbridled lust for money and power can make you crazy.
