Event Description
The Grateful Dead Movie & Fungus Show

The Grateful Dead Movie, released in 1977 and directed by Jerry Garcia, is a film that captures live performances from the Grateful Dead's October 1974 five-night stand at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. This end-of-tour run marked the beginning of an extended hiatus for the band, with no shows planned for 1975. The movie also faithfully portrays the burgeoning Deadhead scene. The film features the "Wall of Sound" concert sound system that the Dead used for all of 1974.

For over 20 years FUNGUS has served as Western Pennsylvania's premier jam band, featuring a tribute to the Grateful Dead and the everlasting legacy of Jerry Garcia.  Fungus specializes in recreating the festive atmosphere that followed the Dead to each of their concerts. Fungus is proud to have shared the stage with such notable artists as Jefferson Starship, JGB, The Band, Arlo Guthrie, David Grisman, Dark Star Orchestra, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Vassar Clements, David Nelson Band, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Commander Cody, Donna Jean Godcheaux, Zen Tricksters, Big Brother and The Holding Company, Yonder Mountain String Band, David Gans, Jimiller band, Scott Blasey of The Clarks and many more.

Doors open at 7pm for grilled cheese, drinks, etc.  Screening of The Grateful Dead Movie at 8pm - the rockumentary filmed live at Winterland in San Francisco in 1974. Fungus, western-PA's premiere Dead tribute band, will play live at 10:30pm.
