Event Description
Sleepy Hollow Cemetery lantern tour, July 28

This evening tour highlights Sleepy Hollow Cemetery's connection to the 1970 movie House of Dark Shadows.

After paying respects to Washington Irving, author of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," we step into the cemetery's 112-year-old underground receiving vault which appeared in the film as the crypt of Barnabas Collins.

We also visit some of the cemetery's famous and infamous residents: a notorious counterfeiter, a noted spiritualist, wealthy industrialists, and others, including the private mausoleum that producer Dan Curtis originally intended for the Collins family crypt.

Time: 10 pm to midnight
Location: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery north gate, 540 North Broadway.

Skill level: Some people may find the pace of our two-hour walking tours challenging. We cover more than a mile on foot and encounter stairs, unpaved roads, and hills. Please consider your own abilities when signing up for a tour.

Refunds, exchanges: All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless tour/event is canceled. Weather: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery walking tours generally run rain or shine. If we cancel a tour due to severe weather such as high winds, lightning, or heavy rain, we will promptly refund your full purchase price.
