South American Harp: Edmar Castaneda Trio

Colombian harp virtuoso and composer Edmar Castaneda brings South American traditions to Elebash Hall with his trio and special guest vocalist Andrea Tierra.       


Castaneda is a Colombian harpist known for a stunning command of his instrument. He is a master at realizing beautiful complexities of time, while skillfully drawing out lush colors and the dynamic spirit of Colombian, Venezuelan, Mexican, and other South American harp traditions.

This program is part of Live@365's City of the World series, programmed with the Graduate Center's ethnomusicology department. The concert is curated by ethnomusicology doctoral candidate Elizabeth Martin.
