Don’t miss Betsy Burleigh’s farewell performance of one of the most spellbinding and transcendent choral works of the 20th century, Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem. Incorporating themes from Gregorian chant, the Requiem has been described as luminous, sumptuous, and possessing a tender radiance.
A masterpiece crafted by a composer known as a perfectionist, its exceptional eloquence and exquisite sensibility mirror the qualities which have marked Betsy Burleigh’s tenure as Music Director of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh.
Join us immediately following the concert for a reception in the church courtyard.
