Design + Build Afterschool Club (ages 12-16)

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-6:30pm 

Design and Build Club introduces young innovators to the engineering design process using laser cutters and 3D printers. Students will move through identifying a problem, brainstorming, prototyping and iterative design in Approaching Making before refining their CAD (computer aided design) skills in Autodesk and Adobe software. All students will walk away with a project of their own design, aimed at solving a problem in their everyday life. Previous examples include programming alarm clocks, designing and laser cutting lamps, and modeling then 3D printing chess sets. 

Students who participate in this camp will be certified to use the laser cutters and the Printrbot 3D printers at TechShop. 

This TechShop Afterschool Club is for students aged 12-16. Clubs run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm - 6:30pm for 4 weeks. Transportation is not included.

September 29 - October 22
Club meets on 9/29, 10/1, 10/6, 10/8, 10/13, 10/15, 10/20, and 10/22.

October 27 - November 19
Club meets on 10/27, 10/29, 11/3, 11/5, 11/10, 11/12, 11/17, and 11/19.

November 24 - December 22
Club meets on 11/24, 12/1, 12/3, 12/8, 12/10, 12/15, 12/17, and 12/22. (No club on 11/26 due to Thanksgiving)
