Event Description

Sound artist, designer, and electronic musician Yuri Suzuki explores the realms of sound through exquisitely designed pieces, raising questions about how our minds are affected by sound and music. Suzuki showcases two of his inventions at MoMA Studio—Colour Chaser and OTOTO—and leads a workshop in which participants learn to make their own musical notation and instruments, and collaborate with musicians on a final public performance.

October 22:
Suzuki explores the Colour Chaser’s and OTOTO’s potential for creating DIY music. This workshop invites participants to make musical instruments, paying attention to the sculptural qualities of their creations. Featuring special musical guest Yuka Honda, of Cibo Matto.

Space is limited. Free with museum admission, but a separate ticket is required. Drop-ins on the day of the program will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis in the Cullman Education and Research Building, beginning one hour prior to the start of the program.

Please arrive at the The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building (4 West 54th Street) up to one hour before your event to collect your tickets. Workshop duration is 90-120 minutes.
