“Who says romance is dead?” Shot entirely in the Pittsburgh area by actor/writer/director/educator Jeff Monahan (and his 72nd St. Films indie production company) this is a Frankenstein-in-reverse story about a woman who creates a man from the bodies of the dead, then falls in love with him. Shelly, an unlicensed doctor – wonderfully played by Joanna Lowe – is obsessed with life after death, working diligently on gruesome re-animation experiments. The questions of responsibility and consequences fall by the wayside as she becomes more involved with her barbaric research. (2013; 85 min)
