Pittsburgh has a reputation of breeding talented musicians and artists ranging from George Benson, Erroll Garner, and Christina Aguilera to Girl Talk, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. These artists, just to name a few, represent the wide-range of talent that has emerged from the streets of the steel town. Byron Nash is a guitarist determined make his mark with the hopes of one day being added to this list. With a deep-rooted history in Pittsburgh’s music scene, Nash has been around for quite some time, building a reputation for his unique style of rock n’ soul guitar playing. Evident in that unique sound are the various genres of music that have influenced his life, including : early thrash metal, jam, funk and soul, to Hip-Hop, jazz, blues and world music. He is an enthusiast of all things musical– concerts, productions, plays, dance, music history documentaries, instrument collecting, etc.

Nash’s style on guitar is a varied blend, inspired by the technical prowess of metal guitar heroes like Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai and Dimebag Darrel fused with the expressive soul style of Jimi Hazel, Vernon Reid, and Hendrix. Nash’s songwriting is personal, revealing, and emotive, complimented by the tone of his warm, subtle voice; the combination of which helps to draw the listener deeper into his story. Having spent many years playing, touring, experimenting, and studying various recording techniques, Nash has been able to dial in his musical identity and develop his distinctly personalized style of production. His sound can be described as raw, yet vibe-capturing. Over the years, Nash has developed a strong reputation not only for his creative musicality, but his no-holds barred work ethic. He lives by the motto that nothing good comes without hard consistent work.

As a result, Nash is in relentless pursuit of his musical dream every waking moment. The hard work has paid off and Nash’s music has received attention, getting him production work. He has produced music for an array of clients including Crow’s Run Films, The Heinz Endowment, Ugandan Gold Coffee, and some independent films and documentaries. Along with the release of his first solo EP, and a national tour, Nash is looking to delve deeper into film and commercial placement with his music. Until then, rest assured he will be collaborating, writing, and perfecting his craft on his instrument and in production.
