Boulevard Avenue- Huntington, WV
Like the gentle rise of biscuits from the bottom of the pan, the idea to create an entire album of songs about the flour-based breakfast staple had been baking in Parry Casto's brain for years before the reality of bringing it to the table was a possibility. With the support of Alex McCoy, a musical virtuoso who has been in several successful bands in Huntington, WV, Parry's half-baked dream would begin to become a reality in November 2013. The neighbors combined forces to become Boulevard Avenue and penned their first song, a pop-rock ballad titled "Mary Mary," as the first step in whipping up a whole batch of songs for their album, Biscuits As Usual.
Things would only get weirder. For the next six months, Boulevard Avenue would refuse to flake out with only one song in its cookbook and would write an additional 14 songs to complete their biscuit-themed, Appalachian opus. Like any well-refined recipe, Biscuits As Usual would add a few extra musical flavors in the kitchen to round out the audio dining experience. Songs like "Big Tater," "Thundering Herd," "The Miner," and "Slipped Me a Mickey," would hold down the old-timey, Appalachian-country end of the album, and tunes like "The Mountaineer," "The Politician,"
Also performing is special guest Andrew Tuck from The Greens solo.
