The Allegheny West Civic Council (AWCC) is thrilled to welcome guests again to tour the homes and gardens of Pittsburgh’s smallest neighborhood.  Tour & Tasting is a docent-led walking tour of six historic properties. At each location guests will enjoy a unique food and wine experience surrounded by lovingly restored homes and gorgeous garden spaces. We are excited to announce three never shown properties will be on the tour this year. Tickets are limited and it sells out so purchase early!

Continue to check the website for participating sponsors.

We apologize, we are unable to customize food and wine pairings.

Each of the three walking tours are split up into groups of 15.  If additional members of your group have purchased tickets in a separate transaction please let us know when you purchase tickets so that we can put you in the same tour.  If you do not tell us in advance we cannot guarentee you will be part of the same tour group. On the checkout page you will be asked to list the the name(s) under which the other members of your group purchased tickets. Tickets purchased in the same transaction will automatically be included in the same group. All tours begin at either 1:00pm (Saturday) or 5:00pm (Friday & Saturday).

Accessibility

The walking tour takes place over approximately 6 square blocks of our neighborhood and many of the private houses have steps that must be negotiated so please plan accordingly. Holmes Hall, at the start of the tour, is a private home and is accessed by approximately 10 steps. The tour happens rain or shine and will not be canceled for weather. If you have questions the accessibility/suitability of the tour for members of your group please contact our volunteers at tours@alleghenywest.org or (412) 701-4092 before purchasing tickets.

Groups

For each walking tour time everyone will be broken up into 6 groups who will be touring at the same time. We will automatically put everyone who purchased tickets in the same Showclix order into the same group. If some members of your group are purchasing tickets in different transactions, please let us know at the time of checkout if there are other people in your party with seperate ticket orders but who would like to be in the same group.

Refund and Exchange Policy

We are unable to give refunds for unused tickets after May 15, 2024. You may swap walking tour tickets between tours days/times by calling Showclix 1-888-718-4253 Opt 1 (Mon-Fri, 9:00am - 9:00pm EST)  as long as there are tickets remaining in at new tour time. Allegheny City, now Allegheny West, was once the home of “Millionaire’s Row”, one of the most prestigious addresses in the country. Through dedicated residents, hard work and proceeds from events like “Tour & Tasting” the AWCC contributes to projects preserving our history and significant structures.

Thank you for helping to support the community programs of the Allegheny West Civic Council. More information about the historic homes of Allegheny West can be found here.
