Event Description
A Place of Truth / Under My Skin / Why We Race

 A Place of Truth

Name a price.  Pick a subject.  Get a poem.  That's the message on the curbside table of 21-year-old Abi Mott, a street poet who travels from city to city sharing moments of joy with strangers and passersby.  This magical film takes Abi from her hometown of Lancaster, PA, to a yoga festival in New Mexico, and to San Francisco where, inspired and mentored by a street poet, she gets her start in the poetry busking world. Focusing on Abi's adventures in New York City and New Orleans,  the film explores intersecting themes of art, commerce, love and authenticity.

Under My Skin

A young star athlete sees his world change overnight, and must face severe scars -- both real and emotional -- after a traumatic accident drastically transforms his life.  A documentary about compassion and positivity, this film comes from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, and the 4-member team of Alex Ivany, James Parker, Kevin Wolf, and Samantha Schoenberg.  The film includes original music by KG Bird.

 Why We Race

One of five films nominated by the International Documentary Association for the 2013 IDA Student Documentary Award, this impressive film comes from Chapman University Dodge College of Film and Media Arts students Kiley Vorndran, Ryan Westra, Andrew Evers and Ben Fischinger.  A survivor of a motorcycle wreck, disabled for life, trains to compete in the Paralympic Games in this inspirational and moving film.
