40th Okinawan Festival at the Hawaii Convention Center


Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, 2022


Early Admission tickets are only available via PRE-SALE by purchasing online NOW through Friday, 9/2 (11:59PM HST).


General Admission tickets are available for purchase online and will also be available for purchase during the event in the First Floor Lobby.

Festival Hours: 9 am -  5 pm



  • Early Admission from 9 am - 10 am (Beat the lines to enter the Exhibit Hall and get all your festival favorites! Festival foods, t-shirts, and country store!)

    • Adults: $15.00

    • Seniors (65+): $10.00

    • Children (12 and under): FREE (no ticket needed)





  • General Admission from 10 am - 5 pm

    • Adults: $10.00

    • Seniors (65+): $5.00

    • Children (12 and under): FREE (no ticket needed)






  • Bon Dance: 5:30 pm -  9 pm

    • FREE (no ticket needed)

    • ONLY select FOOD booths will remain open during the duration of the bon dance

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:




  • FOR FESTIVAL ATTENDEES, MASKS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. The Bunkwa Nu Shima (Cultural Village) Room will require masks upon entry for all guests and volunteers due to the close contact nature of the activities in this room; disposable masks will be available upon request. Masks will be required for all festival volunteers. 




  • ADMISSION IS ONLY REQUIRED TO ENTER THE EXHIBIT HALL ON THE FIRST FLOOR.  No admission ticket is required for access to the Third Floor.  All rooms/exhibits located on the Third Floor will open from 9:00 am on Saturday and Sunday.



  • ONE (1) entry ticket per person/per day is needed to enter the festival.

  • NO PETS (EXCEPT FOR SERVICE ANIMALS); NO HARDSHELL COOLERS; NO LAWN CHAIRS.



  • ALL SALES FINAL; NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES.

Started in 1982 by the Hawaii United Okinawa Association, the Okinawan Festival is one of the largest ethnic festivals held in the state of Hawaii.  The festival celebrates all things Okinawan and brings together Okinawans and Okinawans-at-heart. Our theme of "Sharing Uchinanchu Aloha" is embedded in everything we do.  Join us for the ono food, beautiful performances, educational cultural exhibits and much more. 




The Hawaii United Okinawa Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports education to promote, perpetuate and preserve Okinawan culture.
