3rd Annual Steve Sutton Memorial Concert

Doors Open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. The Queen Auditorium in the Folkmoot Friendship Center is home to the arts and cultural programming of Haywood County. We are celebrating the life and memory of Steve Sutton, a native of Haywood County, who picked his banjo across the world. He performed at the Grand Ole Opry, won multiple IBMA awards, and was nominated for a Grammy. He was a member of the Whitewater Bluegrass Co., and he was well known for his dedication to aspiring musicians. The Annual Steve Sutton Benefit Concert raises money for Waynesville’s Tuscola High School music students scholarship program with the International Bluegrass Music Association Trust Fund. Performing in his honor, Whitewater Bluegrass Co. and the Darren Nicholson Band will have you tapping your heel to the rhythm of their mountain melodies.
