Event Description


A boy’s tortured desire to discover his mother’s guarded secret, and his father’s struggle to save his son's life even though the revelation might cost him his own. A brilliant and startling testament to the human condition, FATHER, FATHER delves into a whirlwind of universal emotions, and is awash with suspense and heart pounding intensity. Cook is a published author and experienced screenwriter, nationally recognized as one of the prized new talents in the world of theater, television, film, and literature.  His in-depth experience in business, politics and social affairs has nurtured a strong sense of empathy across a broad spectrum of class and cultures. And his knowledge enables him to transform his audience into preverbal “flies on the wall” on stage, screen, or page.

Lorenz Arnell -best known to local theatre audiences for his multiple award-winning portrayal of Emmett Till in Ifa Bayeza’s The Ballad of Emmett Till at the Fountain Theatre 


Stacy ArnellDeep Cover with Laurence Fishburne, The Great White Hype with L. Jackson and Damon Wayans, Menace II Society with Bill Duke and Charles S. Dutton and Cutthoat Alley directed by Timothy Wayne Folsome, plus Showtime’s hit original series, Ray Donovan, opposite Golden Globe and Oscar winning actor, Jon Voight.


Jeremie Campbell – is an actor and writer, known for Spartan (2004), Bicycle Dreams (2012) and Love (2013) 


Amentha Dymally – award-winning actress appeared on Broadway in the original 1965 production of James Baldwin's The Amen Corner directed by Frank Silvera. She received the 1993 NAACP Theatre Award for Best Supporting Performance/Female as Sara in Neva’s Tale as well as DramaLogue Awards for her work in Jar The Floor and Flyin’ West. Ms. Dymally played Sadie Delany in four different productions of Having Our Say


Billy Mayo - three-time Dramalogue award recipient for performances in Fences, A Soldier’s Play, and Of Mice and Men. On the big screen, he has appeared in The Green Hornet , Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, Air Force One, THE Perfect Storm, Clockstoppers and several independent films.


Joy DeMichelle Ysaguirre - Stage credits include appearances off-Broadway and regionally at the Majestic Theatre Tribute to Lorraine Hansberry; American Place Theatre Stonewall Jackson’s House; John Houseman Theatre Fun, Zooman and the Sign, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone; Actors Theatre of Louisville Raisin in the Sun,The Water Hole; Denver Center Theatre Seven Guitars, Blues for an Alabama Sky; Crossroads Theatre Piano Lesson, Spirit North, Harriet’s Return.


Easter Weekend: Friday, April 3, & Saturday, April 4 at 8:00 pm. 


Tickets are $20.00. There will be a reception with the cast following the April 3rd performance. All proceeds support the Playhouse Benefit Campaign.
