Guitar Series: Denver Walker and Nathan Mills

The VCU Guitar Series presents outstanding classical and flamenco guitarists in concerts and master classes. A 2013 alumna of VCU, Denver Walker performs with the Flamenco-inspired ensemble Sueños Gitanos. This ensemble has been featured in the VCU Flamenco Festival three times and has performed at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and many other locations around the Virginia and D.C. area. Sueños Gitanos released their first full-length album in the Spring of 2013.
Nathan Mills received his Master of Music Performance degree at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina where he received a full graduate teaching assistantship. He received his bachelor’s degree in classical guitar performance at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. During his time there he was awarded the Jesús Silva Merit Scholarship for guitar. Nathan grew up across North Africa; in Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco. The opportunities of life overseas, experiencing the sights, sounds, and people of many different cultures, continue to influence and shape him as an individual and a musician today.
