Filmed in Pittsburgh, this docu-thriller focuses on the life, brief career, and mysterious death of Maryland filmmaker Karl Atticus – otherwise known as “godfather of the slasher film.” The film features interviews with various historians and aficionados including Eduardo Sanchez, director of The Blair Witch Project, who once asked: “Why, for nearly four decades, has Atticus’s story been practically eradicated from the annals of cinematic history?” That set these intrepid indie filmmakers on a quest – and the rest is history.
