Jaqueline Field of Portland is a clothing and textile historian and curatorial consultant at the Maine Historical Society. She was formerly Costume Curator at Westbrook College where she taught textile and clothing history. She has published numerous articles and co-authored the award-winning book, American Silk: 1830-1930. Her most recent book, Textiles & Designs: Bates Mill 1930-1990 expands on the exhibition she curated, Covering the Nation: The Art of the Bates Bedspread at Museum L-A in Lewiston. Her talks about fashion and dress are informed by a lifetime of experience in the field, from frequent travel to the UK to explore British museum collections, and from her years of service on the national board of the Costume Society of America.
